Cranberry Margarita Cocktail Recipe
Makes around 10 Margarita’s.
Recipe Ingredients:
- 500ml of cranberry juice
- 150ml of sugar syrup (depending on how sour the mixture is)
- 100ml of fresh squeezed lime juice
- 400ml of tequila
- 200ml of Grand Marnier
- 250 grams of frozen cranberries
- Ice cubes or cracked ice
- 10 lime wedges for garnishing
- 30 frozen cranberries for garnishing
Recipe Method:
For the sugar syrup: Put 400 grams of caster sugar into a small saucepan, cover it in 400ml of water, and then slowly bring this up to the boil, stiring frquently. Once at the boil, reduce the heat, and simmer slowly to fully dissolve the sugar and thicken the syrup. Once thickened, take it off the heat, and let it cool fully, then use. Store any left over syrup for other cocktails in a sealed bottle.
Make the cocktail: Mix all the ingredients (except the ice and the garnish) in a large pitcher or serving jug, and mix it up. Then pour 500ml of this margarita mixture into a blender and fill the blender up with ice to 800ml. Blend until slushy. Taste, if too sour, add in more sugar syrup.
Pour into the prepared chilled glasses and garnish with two or three of the whole frozen cranberries and a lime wedge. Repeat with mixture. Makes a minimum of three blender batches.
