Winter-Spiced Bloody Mary

This is exactly what it sounds like, a winter-spiced Bloody Mary. A great cocktail, or a wonderful restorative hang-over cure, you decide. It uses a winter-spiced vodka which you can make up in advance (see the recipe below).

Winter-Spiced Bloody Mary Recipe

Makes 1 Drink. One measure is equivalent to 25 ml or 1 Fld Oz.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 measures winter spiced vodka (see below)
  • 300ml (½ pint) tomato juice
  • 150ml (¼ pint) lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash Tabasco sauce
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Garnish

  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 lemon wedge

Recipe Method:

Combine all the liquid ingredients and seasonings into a blender with a few ice cubes. Blend for a few seconds and pour into a tall glass. Garnish with a trimmed celery stalk, and a wedge of lemon and lime.

Winter Spiced Vodka Recipe

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of Vodka
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 dried chilli
  • 3 cardamon pods
  • 1 tsp of cummin seeds
  • 1 tsp of corriander seeds

Recipe Method:

Put everything in a clean and sterilized bottle you can seal. This is best done a week before using, to allow everything to infuse.
